It’s no easy task to pick the best goal of a football season.

After dozens of matches, there will always be a fair few contenders worthy of being named the strike of the year.

At the annual Swansea City player awards dinner, a shortlist of the best five goals was voted on by the public, with the winner crowned by Rod Lloyd, CEO of the lcv group.

It was a tough decision, with some fine efforts from the likes of Josh Key, Liam Walsh, Jamal Lowe, and Jamie Paterson coming close. But in the end, it was Josh Ginnelly’s incredible solo goal against Northampton Town that was named the best of the best.

The vote took place at the Swansea.com Stadium on Wednesday, May 1. It was hosted by local favourites Kev Johns and Mal Pope with a little help from club legends including Lee Trundle and Leon Britton in handing out the awards.

As the Swans’ official commercial vehicle partner, the lcv group have long supported the event which raises money for the Former Players Association.

Another cause the lcv group are keen to support is Maggie’s Swansea, who were handed the Community Champion award for their crucial work helping those impacted by cancer. We donated an extra table at the event to the charity to ensure all of the team could enjoy the moment and be recognised for their hard work.
